Research

About 60 scientists conduct research on the Leibniz-WissenschaftsCampus “Cognitive Interfaces“.  They investigate how information is digitally treated and which forms of interaction can be made available to support knowledge-intensive tasks such as learning, solving problems, or supporting decision-making.

The Leibniz-WissenschaftsCampus pools the expertise of a variety of disciplines and the know-how of scientists in the fields of psychology, informatics, biology didactics, dentistry, medicine, educational science, media science and sports science.

The researchers of the Leibniz-WissenschaftsCampus explore such questions as:

  • How can online platforms be used for conveying medical knowledge? How should they be optimally designed?
  • Which reviews are read when products are bought on the internet?  When do the users themselves write a review or an evaluation?
  • How can algorithms for contact recommendations be optimized for a business network?
  • How can multitouch tables support doctors in the daily ward round of their patients with the presentation of relevant patient documents?
  • How must instructional concepts be designed to improve scientific conclusions, motivation and success in the learning process of school pupils?
  • How can tablets and the like be used to encourage learning and social integration?
